took august to get some blood drawn today.

he was SUCH A TROOPER.

he smiled at both nurses right up until the needle went in his arm. cried a lot, of course. i’m sure that there are some adults that cry just as much. and, as soon as the needle was out and he was bandaged, he was all smiles. and with a red, tear soaked face. he even gave the nurse that stuck him a huge smile before we left.

it is so hard to see your child in pain and not be able to console him right away. at one point, i looked down and saw the needle in his arm and had to look away just as soon as i had looked…singing “the wheels on the bus” in his ear to comfort him.

don’t know if it was more comforting to him or me.

he was so brave, though.

so much so that i couldn’t help but buy him a toy while at the store. his first toy car. teaching him that it goes, “vroooom!” he finds that most amusing.

yes, i am well aware of the fact that i am doing a poor, poor job at keeping up this little blog here. the fact that i haven’t updated and have so much to update plagues my thoughts daily.

mark was late to work this morning. i believe we woke up at eleven.

yes, ELEVEN. we were slackers.

dear baby boy,

you are six months old! SIX MONTHS OLD! half a whole year old.

i am so in awe of this fact that i am not sure what to type. or where to even begin. the past few days i have been formulating in my head what i was going to write you this month…and have found myself even trying to figure out what exactly that i’m feeling.

since last entry, august has had a few healthy bowel movements…and we didn’t really change anything. of course, i don’t know if the constipation had anything to do with anything i was eating or not getting enough of but literally, like the day after, he had one and then the next day– two. and they were pretty rank. they seem to be consistent again so i hope they stay that way!

this past week august has been a little wreck. i attribute most of it to two little teeth we saw come in a few days ago. his two bottom front teeth. poor little guy.

i kind of can’t believe that he is already six months old. time has really flown. but, if it were even possible, every day he is even more adorable and beautiful than the last.

this picture was taken a couple of days ago at, our friend, shelly’s home. i would have taken a picture of him today, or even yesterday, to post here but poor little guy has the flu and the last thing i think he wants, is a camera in his face. so, you’ll have to feast your eyes on the cuteness that was two days ago.

hopefully i can be on top of his monthly letter and pictures before aunt jennifer comes this weekend!
