we got the ultrasound results for skittle in the mail last night.

mark handed me the paper saying, “your doctor has a lot to say about the baby,” and i got all worried ’cause he had two sheets in his hand.

“your baby looks fine.”

that’s all it said on a full 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of paper. the other page was just a detailed evaulation that was a little hard to understand but basically let us know that there was nothing that rose any red flags.

glad it’s the weekend. plan to just kick it today. and tomorrow, mark and i are hoping to go to the san francisco zoo. pretty essiteddd.

for lunch, i am making egg salad sandwiches. i haven’t craved egg salad sandwiches in yeeears!

FINALLY! I felt the skittle move!

From what I can tell by the quick but gentle outward pressure I felt when I placed my hand just below Sarah’s navel, he’s training to be a cage fighter.

I’ve felt bumps like this before but usually only after eatting pizza and spicy foods.

Seriously though - It was amazing and that’s assuming “amazing” is an inadequate word choice.

Can’t wait.

pulling a jelly belly jelly bean out of the bag, matching it up with the flavor from the key on the back of the bag, and then trying it to taste that it tastes EXACTLY like caramel corn or strawberry jam makes me smile…and every time, too.

i’m such a nerd.

for the record, i think i may be the only one in the world that loves the popcorn flavor. ;p and i definitely think the chocolate pudding flavor should be discontinued. it’s disappointing biting into one thinking you’re going to get dr. pepper flavor only to find that you’re really getting gross flavor.

we had our second ultrasound appointment this past monday (24th). ’twas a fun day that we got to spend sleeping in, working on the blog a bit, and then an hour before the ultra sound, i had to down a 32 oz. bottle of gatorade and HOLD IT. mark, being the supportive (and curious) guy that he is, wanted to do it with me and downed 20 oz. before he couldn’t take it anymore. having to hold it…a cruel thing, i tell you. i didn’t have to hold it through the whole ultra sound appointment, though. thankfully, after the radiologist checked to see that everything looked all right with the birth canal, i was able to relieve myself. unfortunately, mark had to wait ’til the appointment was over because he was in the waiting room for the part of the appointment where the radiologist told me that i could go to the bathroom. poor guy.

The Site is LIVE! There’s still a ton to do here. Little fixes and what not, but for the most part this is home for the next 20 weeks and beyond. SarahandI will be posting updates periodically so whenever you want to know the latest - check the blog.

this morning was this month’s pre-natal check up with the midwife. this morning, i was dragging getting out of bed. i am thankfully able to do this as two of the three days that i work, i don’t have to be at the church to pick up the kids i nanny until noon. i was awake earlier than usual because mark meets with a couple of guys he works with every wednesday at like 7:30ish am for a book study that they do. i was pretty much wide awake after he left.

so, here come the pregnancy frustrations– some gal that’s been watching my flickr just recently commented on a onesie picture i had posted recently. she was asking if we were expecting. i replied back letting her know that we were and got this response:

“Congrats! Half way there. But remember, don’t eat for two - just double up on the nutrients. So, stay away from those eateries you guys love…”

not a whole lot. i am feeling the baby move pretty regularly, though!

How are you feeling?
tired and unfortunately not getting much sleep this week but, over all, great.

Any Dr. appointments/ultrasounds/tests this past week and how did they go?
no.

Anything big happening in your personal life (moving, work related, family, etc.)?
last week, my husband and i got back from houston (our hometown) for a wedding that i photographed at and, this week, we’re entertaining my sister and her friend who are in from austin.

around when can i expect that my husband will be able to feel the baby move?

not really. oreos saturated in milk and candy/sweets but those aren’t so unusual.

showing more and more! and all of the baby movement; there is nothing quite like it. it’s definitely reassuring. i can’t wait for my husband to experience it.

How far along are you?
seventeen weeks, today!

What symptoms are you experiencing?
muscle aches (esp. in my lower back), round ligament pains, mild nausea (that, unfortunately, had returned after being gone for three weeks!).

How are you feeling?
pretty good, however, i spent most of today on my feet cleaning the house so my muscle are soooore.

Any Dr. appointments/ultrasounds/tests this past week and how did they go?
none this week. our next one won’t be until march 24th for afp testing and an ultra sound to find out the sex of the baby!!

Anything big happening in your personal life (moving, work related, family, etc.)?
we’re about to go back home to houston from tomorrow until monday and, right when we get back, we’ll be entertaining my sister and her friend who are coming in from austin! going to be a busy next couple of weeks but i’m looking forward to it.
