040809:LATE TO BED, LATE TO WORK.
mark was late to work this morning. i believe we woke up at eleven.
yes, ELEVEN. we were slackers.
but, darn it, we were going to watch a movie last night. if it was the last thing we were going to do. and it was. (har har)
seriously, though. probably not THE MOST responsible thing to do but it was an accident (life’s full of ‘em) and we’re finding that alone time is rough with a little baby. the only time that mark and i really have together is when august’s asleep.
so, we folded and put away laundry, had a midnight snack together, watched a movie, and were up past two just being together.
it was nice.
august whined here and there but, for the most part, we got to enjoy the movie so we can’t really complain.
wasn’t feeling so hot when i woke up this morning realizing 1) i had a splitting headache and 2) we’d overslept. even little august was still sleeping. i felt so bad to wake mark under the circumstances but he couldn’t very well carry on sleeping. i was able to put my headache on hold long enough to pull him out a set of clothes to throw on once he got out of the shower. that was the best i could do.
thankfully, he was honest and explained the situation to his boss and he said that she seemed understanding.
he should be okay at work as long as he makes sure he puts in an eight hour day and gets that much work done. this does mean that he won’t be getting home until later but such is life. we enjoyed a movie and some time together last night so it is a small price that he work a little later today to make up for it.
i am craving sushi w/ tobiko.
